What EUvahti is

EUvahti is an independent, non-commercial service that tracks EU law files. It is not an official service of the European Parliament, European Commission, or any other EU institution. Source data comes from the EP Open Data portal and EUR-Lex.

Data we collect

EUvahti does not set advertising or analytics cookies. If you subscribe to file updates, EUvahti stores your email address and subscription choices.

Subscription data includes your email address, the file number you subscribed to, a confirmation token, and the last notified step. This data is used only to send the notifications you requested.

Anonymous usage statistics

EUvahti uses Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate page use and improve the service. Vercel states that this product stores anonymised data and does not use cookies. EUvahti does not send names or email addresses as analytics events. Read the Vercel Analytics privacy information.

Email notifications

Notification emails are sent via Resend. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any notification email. After unsubscribing, your email address is deleted from the subscription database.

Why and how long data is used

Email subscriptions are processed with your consent so EUvahti can send the alerts you requested. Unconfirmed subscriptions expire after 24 hours and are removed by the notification cleanup job. Confirmed subscriptions remain until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion.

Anonymous service analytics are used for the legitimate interest of maintaining and improving EUvahti. You can use the public tracker without creating an account.

Service providers

Vercel hosts the website and provides anonymous analytics, Neon hosts the PostgreSQL database, and Resend processes confirmation and update emails. These providers process only the data needed to operate those services under their own security and data processing terms.

Public data

Legislative data displayed on this site, including file details, voting records, and committee assignments, is sourced from public EU datasets.

Your rights

You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of personal data connected to an email subscription, and you may withdraw consent at any time. You may also complain to your local data protection supervisory authority.

Controller and contact

The EUvahti project maintainer is the controller for subscription data. Questions and data requests can be submitted through the maintainer's public GitHub profile.
